Banquet is a case in point that illustrates how well alliances can work. Malcolm and Breda Cash at Casterton have now been involved with the Branson family for thirteen years. Without this alliance it is unlikely that Banquet could have grown to where it is today – in excess of 800 stud cows, producing more than 300 bulls annually. Banquet is now in a very fortunate situation. As well as the 120 bulls sold at each bull sale, Banquet is able to cater for larger producers that require similarly bred bulls for multiple sire joinings. We are now able to offer bulls “bred to order”. Likewise if a number of smaller producers band together to form an alliance, Banquet is able to assist. We can supply the alliance bulls of similar genetic performance that will assist in evening out the line of calves and importantly reducing that “tail”. Whether the alliance chooses to breed, background or grow out its cattle, then Banquet’s genetic and marketing expertise will prove invaluable.
